Case in point: Last week's partnering with others in the Dunwoody community to support the creation of Harvest Baskets for 85 needy families at Kingsley Elementary. We have been involved in this initiative for several years - thanks to the leadership of Anita and Charlie Augello and their family.
Our participation includes some funding AND being on-hand to load baskets for recipients on distribution day. But perhaps the highlight is the "turkey trot" - not a 5K race but rather a run through the local Publix to buy holiday turkeys - because there's a two-turkey limit for any one buyer. So Dunwoody gathered its crew and ran back and forth with turkeys a week or so before Thanksgiving, and a day or two before basket distribution. There's more to the story.
