FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com

President's Message

This last week I hope you enjoyed hearing of the great work our Roswell Fire Department is doing for our community to make Roswell a great place to live work and play. Thanks to John Carruth for ringing the bell in my absence and showing off his wardrobe. From the pictures of the meeting, I definitely have suit envy!

While away I made sure I registered a make up by visiting some fellow Rotarians in Santorini Greece. Although our cultures are different and they speak a different language, all Rotarians share in our motto of “service above self” and strive to make their communities and the world a better place. Our discussion made me appreciate living in a country in which we are free to give back unencumbered by political or religious challenges.

You won’t want to miss this week’s meeting where we will hear from Roswell’s very own Gia Pergolini. Gia is a world class blind swimmer and will compete for the first time in the Paralympic games in Tokyo this summer!

This Week's Speaker
Paralympic Swimmer Gia Pergolini Speaks This Week

Gia Pergolini began swimming in 2008 at age four and started competing competitively at age five. Growing up, she played lacrosse, soccer and gymnastics, but swimming was her passion. When she was diagnosed Stargardt’s disease, she decided to drop the other sports and focus on swimming. In 2017, Pergolini set multiple records, including the American and Pan Am record in the S13 100-meter backstroke at the 2017 U.S. Paralympics Swimming World Championships Trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado....Daughter of Bill and Alice Pergolini…Has two brothers, Matthew and David…Hobbies include hanging out with her friends, baking and listening to Ariana Grande

World Championship Experience •

Most recent: 2019 – silver (100m back), 5th (100m fly) • Years of Participation: 2017, 2019 • Medals: 2 (2 silver) • Silver – 2019 (100m back), 2017 (100m back)

Other Career Highlights • 2017 World Para Swimming World Series, Berlin, gold (50m back) • 2017 Can Am Para-swimming Championships, gold (50m free, 200m free)

2021 Golf & Tennis Tournament Latest News
Sponsors

Click Here for Video-What Does the Mission Statement "Like Minded, Same Passion, One Goal" mean to our you?

As our 2021 Golf Chair Tim McFarlin reminds us with this mission statement....whether you are a golfer or a tennis player or a volunteer....a sponsor or a donor...we all have ONE GOAL and that goal is to raise as much money as we can to support our charity organizations. More even more so than in other years, this support is so badly needed.

Listen here to a few words from Jim Coyle discussing how behind they are due to Covid-19.

We need everyone to be a part of this tournament. You are reason why this tournament creates miracles, and we need YOU now.

This is our ONE big fundraiser...listen here for some history behind that...

So every Roswell Rotarian is part of the golf and tennis tournament!

So how can you help? Listen to a message from 2021 Sponsorship Committee Chair John Reddick.

We need YOU and your network of friends, neighbors, business associates. We need YOU to share social media posts...One post on the Roswell Rotary Facebook site shared by each member of this club who is on Facebook could reach hundreds of thousands of people!  YOU are the secret sauce that makes this tournament a success!

Call to Action this week's meeting: 1. Complete the Commitment form for YOUR commitment for the tournament 2. Hand out or email asks to your network for sponsorship, for players, for donors...give them a chance to join in this amazing event!

Charity Spotlight
Huskies Helping Huskies

Why do we as a club work so hard to make the Golf & Tennis Tournament a huge success? So we can raise money to make a difference for the charities we support!

Watch this video to hear from Becky Nelson about the impact that Roswell Rotary has had on families at Crabapple Middle School. We DO make a real difference.
